Being Host...
Well, its my first time hosting a CNY Sch of Biz gambling session for my DBF Friends today, was kind of tiring though, i had to sms alot of people, some people purposely dun want to response, well others simply say see how, or i just woke up or i got last mintue interview that kind of common excues.. this kind of attitude is not well looked upon in my dictionary. Anyways, i managed to get around 12 of my friends to come at 3pm.. before that, i had to make preparations such as buy "Yu Sheng", buy all sort of snackes twisties etc etc, orange juice mixtures and many more junk food at gaint. After which i took the liberity to chill the red wine and the wines glasses in the freezer. After all that, i ..singal handedly took the entire wooden table out to the hall way on my own.. quite impressed with thysefl though hehe. Then i took a short nap before my friends arrived at 3.25pm late as usual.
After i greeted them at the door, they started giving me organes wishing me happy new year that kind of stuff. Interesting.. i dont have any Ang Bao to give them ..hope they dun mind.
Immediately we headed towards the gambling table , move all the junk food away and started playing poker cards. Being host i was given the privilge to start the Black Jack game as the "banker" , of course i lost $$ the 1st 3 rounds.. quite sickening... then after that was uptrend all the way ..won like $27 like that then that astrid won me $8 T_T in just on shot beacause i dared her to put down $4 to challeged me. Then ya.. marjong won $0.50, more black jack, more brigde.. all in all quite fun la. I think overall they had a very good time at my house, cause there were abundance of sweet drinks, junk food, sweets, wine etc etc all FREE. There was even pizza , 2 LARGE pizzas courtesy of my mum. Then we gambled and gambled until about 10.15pm like that...i started asking them to help me keep the tables and chairs and do some cleaning . What surpise me most is.. after all the cleaning.. before they left.. they asked back for thier organes they gave me this afternoon.. im was shocked!!! I said this : " What?! What the point in giving me oranges in the first place if your gona take it back?!" Of course,... my friends explained to me its about the luck thing and its tradition for the chinese to do that.. and i seriously lack our chinese cultures and practices .
Well.. after everything.. after they left.. i needed to do some sweeping and mopping and then suddenly i felt very depressed.. mood swing perhaps, i kept thinking of the inevitable national service thing..in my heart i feel very stressed up and disgusted that im going to serve NS soon.. well well..thats life. However i wished that my friends could say at least a thank you to me for all the effort and food and entertainment i provided. So what if the red wine was abit off its from the company they sent it to me. Just a thank you will make a difference to me man. Anyways.. i hoped i played a good host to them also... now for mroe important stuff.. im going thailand soon with my friends, i pray to God to protect us save and sound as we enjoy ourselves there.. having said that i hope to get an accident there too so i can skip NS lol.. ok ..nothing else to Blog. God please give me direction in life and the strength to survive thru NS.. amen..~ Rex out
